The country's first case of Tencent "Crossing the Fire" helped crack the DMA plug-in case
DMA plug-ins give players an unfair advantage by reading and modifying game memory data. (Insert picture or video: schematic diagram of DMA plug-ins) Compared with traditional plug-ins, DMA plug-ins are difficult to detect by the system, and the market demand is strong, which has given rise to criminal acts of production and trafficking by criminals.
After a player came into contact with the DMA plug-in, he found a business opportunity and began to illegally sell it. The police followed the line and arrested the player, his online and accomplices. Tencent's game security team actively counterattacked, established device hardware library data, interfered with the DMA plug-in work and banned the account. The team also used player behavior data to establish a DMA plug-in detection model to identify abnormal operations. As of June 2024, Crossfire has banned nearly 20,000 cheating accounts using DMA plug-ins, and shut down 63,000 abnormal devices.
DMA plug-ins destroy game fairness and damage player experience, and we need to fight together. The technological innovation and proactive attack of Tencent's game security team have effectively cracked down on DMA plug-ins and protected players' game environment.
